We believe that children are special and unique individuals

Jumping Jacks Community Preschool creates an environment that is a ‘Home away from Home’ for our children, families, educators and staff.

We believe play is the heart beat of our Preschool.

Children learn through play based experiences, intentional teaching and stimulating environments that promote areas of development creating a holistic child.

As children participate in everyday life, they develop interests and construct their own identities and understanding of the world, enabling them to reach their full potential.

We are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which reminds us to focus on a child’s sense of ‘BELONGING, BEING and BECOMING’

CHILDREN HAVE A STRONG SENSE OF IDENTITY

We provide a happy, fun, safe and nurturing environment where children can openly communicate and confidently be themselves, freely expressing their thoughts, ideas, interests and emotions, which are incorporated into the educational program.

Children are given opportunities to explore their own identity through role play, being positively praised for attempts and celebrating their achievements and individuality..

 CHILDREN ARE CONNECTED WITH AND CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR WORLD

Educators and families work in respectful and reciprocal relationships.

 We assist children to make connections with the community, recognising and respecting diversity throughout various cultures.

We encourage the inclusiveness of others by listening to their views and respecting their input.

We build upon mutual and positive relationships, where children can develop meaningful friendships.

We implement sustainable practices caring for both natural and constructed environments gathering an understanding of people, animals, plants and the land, respecting and acknowledging the Indigenous culture.

 CHILDREN HAVE A STRONG SENSE OF WELL BEING

We encourage children to co-operate, turn take and share with others to develop their social, physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

We promote nutritional eating and positive hygiene practices as a basis for a healthy lifestyle.

We motivate children to participate in fundamental movement skills where they can challenge themselves in fine and gross motor activities.

 CHILDREN ARE CONFIDENT AND INVOLVED LEARNERS

We facilitate children to build their confidence using imagination and expressing creativity through play.

Children are curious learners and through exploration, we encourage them to discover, investigate, experiment and problem solve.

 CHILDREN ARE EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS

We support children to have a VOICE by sharing verbal and non-verbal interactions with others.

We expose children to the use of media, resources and a variety of technologies in preparation for further educational learning.

 Our program aims to equip children for a positive transition to school.

We pay attention to research that suggests emotional and social readiness are key drivers in terms of being prepared for school.

We believe that children have the right to the same opportunities.

By supporting their growth, children will begin to build the foundations necessary for future life and will leave Jumping Jacks Community Preschool as involved and active members of society.

Our philosophy is seen as a living document, continually evolving in the light of new research, the ideas of staff and their ongoing training and personal development. We find new and great ways to contribute to the community through our children, families and staff.
